Weddings That Make History

Frequently Asked Questions

I wonder if a date for my wedding is available?   Please e-mail / call for further information once you have read the event guidelines and procedures for setting appointments.

What staffing support does the Rancho provide? Rancho Foundation staff will coordinate contracts and work in close contact with you &  your professional coordinator to ensure your event runs smoothly.   On the date of your event & rehearsal, your contract includes an on-site staff Liaison to be available from set-up to pick-up of rentals for the purpose of answering site specific questions or troubleshooting. We also ask two docents to be available the day of your event to conduct special tours for your guests!

Do I need a wedding coordinator?  Yes, the Rancho requires all couples to hire a professional wedding coordinator to organize & assist the Rancho Staff in providing adequate support. These services should be contracted for the Month Of and Day Of your event. This will help ensure a smooth and memorable experience for all.

What is the earliest time my event can start? 5:00 p.m. Wednesday thru Sunday; please contact staff for an event on Monday or Tuesday, or a morning event Wednesday thru Sunday.

What time should I plan my event to end? In order to meet the sound requirement of the City of Long Beach as well as a courtesy to our neighbors your event must end by 10:00pm.

When can we set-up & tear down our event items? Your coordinator & Rancho staff will schedule a time for the vendors to “load-in & tear down”. Items provided by couples can be delivered and picked up with prior arrangements through the Rancho.

Can I have alcohol at my event? Yes, you may serve beer, wine and champagne.  Distilled spirits require permission of Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation and may require a one-day liquor license.  All alcoholic beverages must be managed by catering staff and brought on site by them.

Can I use a different caterer than the Rancho’s preferred caterers?  We ask that you refer to our Preferred Vendor list for Caterers, Party Rental, and Coordinator. These vendors have the most impact on our site, so we prefer to work with vendors who know our site well. Our preferred caterers and rental vendors have helped with many weddings at the Rancho and we guarantee provide outstanding service.

Where can my guests park? Parking is available in the lot opposite the historic site entrance on Virginia Road – with some ADA sites on premise.   You may also consider using the services of one of our approved vendors for Valet.
